Last night Frankie & Dandelion took to the stage at the Loxton High School Continental Fashion Parade. The girls who modelled our looks did a fantastic job, as did all the other groups.

It was the second year in a row our brand has been on stage. Although not a breaking-news-event, it is quite a sentimental evening for me. Eight years ago I stood where those girls stood last night. A senior student at the High School where my amazing design teacher (shout-out to you Mrs Gill!) supported, encouraged and nurtured my dreams. In a school where sport and academic achievements are widely common and well-publicised, it was my design class where I found inspiration and guidance under Mrs Gill's wing. My senior schooling years were far from traditional and plagued by illness. However she was instrumental in releasing my passion and even securing my first job in an industry where I now operate my own business at the age of twenty-three.

I can't begin to tell you the pride I felt in having her there last night to witness all that I've achieved. This post is dedicated to any student out there who may have dreams outside the conventional expectations - hard work, persistence and passion will get you there. Also to all teachers out there - never underestimate your ability to inspire and gently guide those around you.
